Today I was available to attend a Free webinar hosted by
www.pdtechu.sqooltechs.com. Dr. Diana Dell was the presenter. She is an educational technology consultant.
Her topic was ways to use Moodle! Since this is the platform we will be using for our online classes next year I thought it would be good to see other ways to use it! It was awesome! Here are the 25 ways:
Forums
- Role Play
- Book Clubs/Literature cirlces
- Sub-Hub
- All About Me
- D.O.L.
- Project similar to "Flat Stanley" to use during breaks
- Enable Students to Rate Posts
Chat
When using paper only the teacher is able to see the information. When using Chat the WHOLE class can learn from eachother! Students can learn more this way!
- Collaborative TV Watching
- Create a back channel during lectures
- Collaborative Note Taking
- Chat with professionals
- Student-generated study guide
- Live chat a book or movie
- Create a progressive poem or story
- Summarize a lesson
- Vocabulary building
- Foreign Language Learning
Searchable Glossary
When comments are enabled, discussions can take place. It is okay for the teacher to be a co-learner! The glossaries are searchable! Can be a great source of review for students.
- Getting to Know You Activity
- Collection of Websites
- Book Reviews
- Publish Research Projects
- Collaborative Chapter Summaries
- Language Learning
- Virtual Zoo
- Favorite Poems Collection/Poem Showcase
If you have any questions on these, let me know! this is just the basics of my notes taken during the webinar.
